Bring Glory and Honor to Our Lord Jesus Christ Through Our Abilities and Character

"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Jesus Christ." - Col 3: 23-24

The purpose of Wylie Preparatory Academy Athletics is to bring glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ through our abilities and character. We will attempt to guide our student athletes to a better understanding of their relationship with Christ through the circumstances and opportunities available during athletic competition. Coaches, athletes, parents, and fans are to glorify the name of Jesus by their works, attitudes, and actions, both on and off the field or court.

Exposure to a variety of sports combined with basic athletic training are the goals of Wylie Preps Athletic program. Athletes are encouraged to try as many different sports as they can do to determine their interests, natural strengths and God-given talents. Through fair and dedicated coaching, student athletes will gain knowledge of the sport, develop proper conditioning, and experience game time. In our athletic program, parents can expect:

  • Academics to come first
  • All students to make the team and experience being a team
  • Frequent opportunities for each student to compete in fames throughout the season based on coaches direction
  • Basic training in the rules, skill, and physical conditioning
  • Growth in physical strength and skill
  • Challenges to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually through sports
  • Athletes to have practice time with the coach and team
  • Coaches to maintain exemplary standards and high expectations for the athletes
  • Practices to be challenging and difficult in order to develop the best in players
  • A commitment by Wylie Prep that we will play to win, but with humility bringing honor to our Lord through our abilities and character
