Admissions
Wylie Prep offers a full range of core and elective courses for parents to select for their children. Only those who have completed the admissions process and are accepted for admission may register for classes. Each high school student who registers for a course at Wylie Prep will have an accredited transcript on file with the school.
Admissions Procedure
All of the following steps must be completed in the order provided:
Step 1: Attend an Information Meeting
This meeting will provide valuable details regarding our University-Model School and the requirements for admission. We deeply appreciate your careful review of the provided information and prayerful consideration of Gods plan for your childrens education.
Register for an Information Meeting Now!
Step 2: Complete and return an Application for Admission
An application packet may be picked up at our front office or after an Information Meeting. An application must be completed for each potential student. The completed application must be returned, with application fee, to the Wylie Preparatory office. Application fees are non-refundable and due with the completed application.
Due to our extensive application process, applications for new students MUST be received no later than 4 weeks prior to that semesters scheduled start date. The application submission date is used to determine registration priority over other new students.
Step 3: Placement Testing and Evaluation
(Note: This step may occur simultaneously with step 4.)
Scheduled Placement Testing is required for grades 1st 8th to place students at the appropriate grade level. High school students must meet with our Academic Counselor to determine placement testing needs.
Test results will be mailed, emailed, or discussed with you over the phone by our Academic Advisor. Report cards and achievement test scores from the prior school year are required on or before the scheduled testing date.
Step 4: References and Family Interview Conducted
Church and personal references listed on your application will be contacted by phone or e-mail. Both parents, incoming student(s), and any other adult who will be responsible for the academic supervision at home are required to attend the family interview.
The family interview is a personal opportunity to answer questions and address any concerns you may have.
After all of the above steps have been completed, the application will be reviewed in detail and a decision letter will be sent from the admission committee.
Step 5: Parent Partnership Sign-Up and Course Registration
There are 16 volunteer hours required per family each school year. This step must be completed before course registration day.
Complete the Course Registration form included in the application packet and attend one of the registration dates.
All registration fees and any remaining paperwork are due at this time. Please note: You may find the registration deadlines on the Dates Sheet
and you may find the applicable late fees on the Tuition and Fees Sheet.
